Dr Julie Goldstein Grumet is trained as a clinical psychologist and offers expert consultation and guidance to health and behavioral health care organizations seeking to implement safer suicide care practices.

She is Vice President for Suicide Prevention Strategy and the Director of  Zero Suicide Institute at Education Development Center (EDC). Her role with the organization has her integrating comprehensive suicide prevention approaches across sectors, settings, and ages and delivering solutions that address shared risk factors to improve long-term mental health and well-being. She has provided strategic guidance for the establishment and evolution of the Zero Suicide framework and resources that enable the effective implementation and dissemination of the initiative.

Dr Goldstein Grumet is also Senior Health Care Advisor to the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC). This federally funded resource clearinghouse is devoted to the advancement of the U.S. National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.

She has authored and co-authored various book chapters and articles for academic journals. In addition, she is frequently consulted as an advocate for increased public awareness of better identification and treatment of suicide by mainstream media outlets. Recently, she has appeared in Time and been featured in stories by NPR, Reuters, and Pew Stateline.
